Infection Control
We’ve long known that the aerosols and splatter produced during dental procedures have the potential to spread infection to our staff. It’s why we’ve always worn masks and eye shields to protect ourselves. But, now we’ve taken one step beyond traditional PPE with the Nederman infection control system.
The Nederman system uses a source-capture method to contain aerosols created during dental procedures. The airflow of entire office filtered by Hepa Filter. It consists of a flexible, hooded arm attached to the ceiling and is positioned above your chest where most aerosols are directed. The arm uses suction and proper airflow to capture, and remove potentially infectious particles generated during your procedure.
Although no single system can eliminate risk, using the Nederman system as part of a multi-level PPE safety strategy can significantly reduce our staff’s exposure to aerosols.
